about

I’m a huge fan of Michael Hurley. I first heard his music whilst touring America with Faisal and our driver, and soon to be chum, Morgan Lebus. Morgan bought a CD, 'Long Journey’, at some point. I thought it was going to be some awful modern country music, but it turned out to be very different indeed. People often use the expression ‘Timeless’ to describe music that doesn’t sound of an era, and it’s what I’d say about Michael Hurley. But not just timeless, placeless also. It just arrives fully formed and couldn’t really be anyone else. I’ve supported him a few times now, plus, in 2019, I got him over to Scotland for my Tae Sup wi’ a Fifer show. Made my day, that did.

I initially recorded ‘The Question’ for a tribute album to Hurley, but the album never came about, no idea why. Last year it was mooted again, so I looked up this old recording, but again, I’ve heard nothing since, so here it is for you all.
